Fundamental Grammar

  • Creation through the Fall of Rome.

    History: Ancient. Ancients to Fall of Rome.

    Math: Skip counting 1-12, 15, 25; squares and cubes; order of operations; common fractions as decimals; prime numbers; Roman numerals; conversions; calculations for polygons and circles.

    Science: Biology. Includes: taxonomy; plants; protists; vertebrates; invertebrates; birds; mammals; human body; Galen and Hippocrates.

    Latin: Counting; factors of verbs; esse (all tenses); factors of nouns; case order; genitive endings; noun declensions; Psalm 23.

    English Grammar: Parts of speech; nouns and pronouns; adjective and articles; verb and adverb; conjunction and interjection; preposition and object of the preposition; fundamentals of sentences; types of verbs; direct and indirect objects; types of conjunctions; types of pronouns; antecedent; categories of nouns; types of nouns.

    Advanced English Grammar: All about nouns. 

    Scripture: The Ten Commandments; Philippians 2:1-11; Psalm 23. 

    Geography: Continents and oceans; ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia; some ancient Europe and Asia (and features); the Exodus; some African and South American features; world features; Wonders of the Ancient World.  

    Hymns:“The Doxology”; “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”; “Holy, Holy, Holy”; “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”; “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”; “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.

  • Dark Ages through the Early Explorers.

    History: Middle Ages.  Diocletian to Early Explorers.

    Science: Astronomy and Earth Science.  Includes: galaxies, stars, and constellations; sun, moon, and planets; Galileo; Copernicus; parts of the earth and atmosphere; natural cycles; biomes; clouds; parts of the ocean.

    Latin: 1st and 2nd conjugations; The Apostle's Creed; 3rd declension nouns.

    English Grammar: Parts of speech; noun and pronoun; adjective and articles; verb and adverb; conjunction and interjection; prepositions; parts of a sentence; sentence patterns; phrases and clauses; helping and linking verbs; verb properties.

    Advanced English Grammar: All about verbs.

    Continents and oceans; seas of the world; Asia, Africa, and Australia (countries & features); highest peaks.
